So, this is Christmas…

How is this for weird and wonderful Christmas marketing?

The traditional Christmas dinner for the Japanese is Kentucky Fried Chicken. Yes, you read right! It began 40 years ago, when the fast food chain successfully convinced customers with an advertising campaign that fried chicken is the traditional American feast. It is so popular and well-marketed that reservations have to be made long in advance and the chicken is served in special holiday packaging.

Talk about selling ice to Eskimos!

Believe it or not, but every Christmas morning we pack cold Kentucky Fried Chicken, warm bread rolls, freshly cut fruit, juice and Champagne and head to Alex for a surf and picnic breakfast with friends and family before we all head back for traditional turkey and present opening. This tradition has been going for 27 years in our family. What have you planned?

When you think about marketing and planning, what resources do you have to help set you on the right path? Did you know AUSPAC BUSINESS ADVANTAGE helps you and your team undertake marketing activities, conduct market research, identify sales prospects, profile your market, develop a sales plan and much more? This qualification is ideal for customer service and sales staff, telemarketers or anyone in direct contact with clients.

TO sell is to serve – if someone comes to you with a need, and if they walk away empty-handed, you haven’t served them well.

Don’t forget to treat objections as requests for further information. So, make your marketing SMART and plan now.

10 things you should never stop doing:

  1. Prospect every day
  2. Improve your skills – never stop learning
  3. Listen more than you talk
  4. Create business and marketing plans
  5. Study your products and know their benefits
  6. Network
  7. Ask questions
  8. Set SMART goals
  9. Be persistent
  10. Smile, and have fun!

I hope this Christmas is a time for you and your family to relax, enjoy time together and take some time to dream… then turn those dreams into SMART plans and goals

Wishing all readers, a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
